The UK agricultural insurance market has been successfully serviced by one major player for decades but things are changing, thanks to FAB (Federation of Agricultural Brokers), a market-leading group of independent UK insurance brokers specialising in this niche market. FAB, formed in 2014 by Debbie Airey and Anne Pickover of CCIB (Country and Commercial Insurance Brokers), shares knowledge, provides training, discusses industry issues and informs members of regulation changes as well as offering a collective buying power in negotiations with insurers.
British farmers have increasingly diversified their portfolios to become more profitable and to reflect this, and with BREXIT on everyone’s agenda, FAB members actively promote a specialist Directors and Officers policy designed specifically for farm businesses; Rural Protect. Rural Protect, offers legal protection and on hand legal advice for any new legislation.
Stephen Hints (Hints Insurance Services Ltd) says:
“Fab is friendly, educational and brings us all together with a common goal. It also increases our strength as brokers with insurers.”
